ABOUT
Pablo Henninger (b. 2000, based in the Netherlands) began working with image-making at 18, after inheriting his grandfather’s analogue camera and traveling to Indonesia to explore his family roots. Immersed in new cultural and religious environments, he developed a sensitivity to atmosphere, identity, and emotional presence. This formative experience shaped his visual language of deep contrast, textured surfaces, and a painterly cinematic tone. Within his first year, his photography was featured by Amsterdam Fashion Week.
Expanding into film, his first directed work premiered at Amsterdam Dance Event (2023) and was nominated at The Hague Film Festival (2024), followed by further international selections in Dresden and New York. His practice has continued to develop internationally, including three consecutive seasons at Paris Fashion Week, working with USA brand District Vision and a documentary project in Japan for Comme des Garçons.
Working across fashion, culture, and music, Pablo creates images that act as emotional environments rather than documentation, positioning himself as a conceptual photographer & director. His process is rooted in translating his internal landscape into visual form. He believes his strongest work emerges when he is able to feel deeply and see that emotion reflected back through the image.
