“RELY NOT ON YOUR OWN.”

Over the past years, I have traveled across countries and cultures, searching for meaning through different religions and ways of life. Although baptized as a child, I drifted away from Christianity as I grew older. With roots in Indonesia, I felt more drawn to Hindu and Buddhist philosophies, while remaining deeply interested in the ancient wisdom that underlies all religions. At the same time, I struggled with one recurring contradiction: war. A phenomenon as old as humanity itself, and still painfully present today, often justified in the name of faith.

This film is born from a conversation with a priest of the Orthodox Church of St. Cyril and Methodius in Slovenia. In our dialogue about war, peace, and God, he reflects on the nature of violence as a product of ego, fear, and disconnection from humanity. War, he explains, is not created by faith, but by those who have lost touch with their heart. Those who act with courage and compassion understand that humans are meant to create, not destroy and to live together as one.

Through stillness, reflection, and spoken wisdom, the film explores faith not as division, but as a call to responsibility, unity, and peace.
